About Me
I'm Llew (or Lou), a researcher in ecology, environmental science, and statistics. I made this blog to write out my thoughts on subjects I work on and share some of my data work. The blog name "Peake and Troughs" is a bad pun on my last name but it's the kind of corny humour I like. I'm nonbinary and use they/them pronouns.
Acknowledgement of Country
Early content for this blog was produced on Cammeraygal Country. Content from February 2022 onwards was produced on Wurundjeri Country. I acknowledge the elders past, present and emerging. I acknowledge that sovereignty over these regions as well as all of Australia was never ceded and that Australia always was and always will be Indigenous land. I also acknowledge Indigenous peoples across Australia and the world.
It is my commitment as a scientist to learn from the traditional owners of the land upon which I live, work, and write. Feedback or suggestions with regard to this goal are highly appreciated and I also welcome the opportunity to collaborate with traditional owners.
